The method utilizes a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The target drug is coated in plate wells. During analysis, samples are added with primary antibody specific to the target drug. If present, the target competes for antibody binding, preventing attachment to the coated drug. A secondary antibody with peroxidase enzyme targets the primary antibody complexed to the plate wells. Resulting color intensity inversely correlates with target concentration in the sample.
